The First of Many in St. Louis #GarbageGala

Yesterday, my designer and I filmed a clip for today's episode of KSDK's Show Me St. Louis.  Needless to say, as Friday draws closer, we're pretty excited about helping the St. Louis Salvation Army continue their efforts to help the homeless community in St. Louis.

Danielle Eickenhorst is fabulous in the video, describing exactly how the Garbage Bag Gala will help the Salvation Army. She states that not only does the Salvation Army feed and provide shelter for the homeless in St. Louis, but they also help "restructure their lives", taking steps to get them out of homelessness.

Also in the video are Florence Dewan with her model, Kate Kerans and me and my designer, Erin Kilfoy.
Let me talk about Ms. Kilfoy for a bit. Erin Kilfoy is a senior in high school. I met her through her dad, who knows Danni Eickenhorst at Tweet the Most Good in May. I know Danni through volunteering with the Salvation Army. Erin and I had coffee before the event because I had her in mind for another nonprofit I volunteer with. Now we're working together on this event.
To say that Erin is talented is an understatement. This young lady has a pure heart and a desire to make a difference. She is a good student, super smart, and talented at just about everything she does. After we were paired for gala, I met with her and her dad to discuss design. The outfit I'm wearing in the video and picture above is exactly what she drew. This gal has an eye for design.  It has been an absolute joy working with her. I'm super excited to watch her blossom and see the world through her eyes. Her passion and desire to make a difference is evident through her designs for the Garbage Bag Gala.

This is just a sneak peak of the fabulous designs we'll showcase Friday at the Moonrise Hotel. I promise that you'll be entertained by not only the designs, but also by Rob Cruse with Cruse Entertainment and DJ Epic.  It's still not too late to get tickets. I look forward to seeing you all there!
